Founded in 2018 by Manon Sailly, Hors-cadre stands out for its innovative approach, focusing on artistic practices and the development of emerging artists. The gallery is anchored in the FAST cultural district in Romainville, north-east of Paris.

Exploring the nomadic model for six years, the gallery has invested in alternative spaces in France and abroad, offering a unique platform and multifaceted dialogues for young artists on the international scene.
In 2024, Hors-cadre opened a permanent space in Romainville. This marks a key stage in the gallery's evolution, allowing it to strengthen its support for young creation and position itself as a true incubator. The gallery's commitment to artists is reflected in its tailor-made support, including strong support for production and the launch of LA VILLA MATHILDE artist's residency in Biarritz (Basque Country) in June 2024, in collaboration with the artist Mathieu Chavaren.

The gallery's programme, which includes five exhibitions a year, strengthens its international outlook by fostering stimulating dialogues with other galleries, museums and art centers abroad.
Thanks to its commitment, Hors-cadre has been able to establish young talents in the institutional landscape, collaborating with renowned institutions such as the Lyon Biennale, the Mathqaf, the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam and the Chateau La Coste.
